Due to severe weather conditions, power outages at three RSU 57 schools and in anticipation of additional weather-related challenges, all elementary schools (Alfred, Line, Lyman, Shapleigh and Waterboro) will be dismissed at 11:30am today. Lunch will be provided prior to dismissal. As there are many road closures, please be patient with your child’s drop-off time. We appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging time.

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of December! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! Click the link to view December's Model Mustang Award recipients. Congratulations, all! http://tinyurl.com/yur8y856

RSU 57 proudly welcomed the arrival of its first of two electric buses on December 12. The District recently applied for a federal grant program which would provide eligible school districts with electric buses entirely free-of-charge. After a rigorous selection process, RSU 57 was chosen to receive two electric buses. The new electric buses will run on a trial basis to evaluate how they provide value to the RSU 57 Transportation Department. An orientation and safety training was held following the unveiling and was attended by Central Office Administration, Transportation staff, and local EMS/fire departments.

Lyman Elementary School Community, You’ve done it again! Every year I am completely humbled and grateful when I see all the gifts and treats rolling in for our Lyman Elementary School Giving Tree program. This Holiday Season we have successfully supported 9 families and 18 students through the Giving Tree. Thank you so much for your immense support and generosity. This community has the most generous and thoughtful helpers. It truly brings me joy seeing people helping others. There’s nothing more pure than when someone gives without expecting anything in return. Lyman community members are givers. This is a small community, but it’s also MIGHTY! I’ve seen how fiercely you support each other and because of that, this community is very strong. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts here at Lyman Elementary School. If you or anyone you know would like to be added to the Lyman Elementary Guidance Department’s support programs list (backpack program, snow gear support, Thanksgiving baskets and the Giving Tree holiday gift support), please contact Mrs. Swasey directly.
