Today, Massabesic Middle School hosted its annual 7th Grade Climate Change Solutions Summit. Over the past two months, students have explored global climate challenges and their far-reaching impacts, applying creative problem-solving to develop solutions aimed at mitigating environmental issues. This open-house-style event welcomed families and community members to explore the students' work at their convenience. Projects addressed critical topics such as air, water, and soil pollution, as well as pest infestations from ticks and mosquitoes. Each student designed a prototype using the online 3D modeling software Tinkercad, conducting extensive research before bringing their ideas to life. Their efforts highlight not only a deep understanding of environmental issues but also a strong commitment to meaningful change for the future of our planet.

Last night, the RSU 57 School Board proudly recognized the MHS Girls Wrestling Team for their incredible achievements this season. The team secured historic wins by claiming the Class A State Championship and then competing at the New England Championships, where they placed third out of over 100 schools across the region. A huge congratulations to our outstanding student-athletes: Olivia Goodrich, Aesa Brock, Sydney Cyr, Savanna Thyng, Sophie Grundhuvd, and Neveah Grundhuvd. Additional congrats to Neveah and Sophie, who dominated their weight classes and were crowned New England Champions. Athletic Director Daniel Lawrence highlighted the team's hard work, discipline, and resilience throughout the season. None of this would have been possible without the guidance of Coach Joe Eon and Assistant Coaches Leo Amabile and Lucas Labbe. We are so proud of this team's dedication and success and their representation of MHS and the greater RSU 57 community. Way to go, Mustangs!

Good Morning, Mustang Nation! This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, March 12th, is an Early Release Day for all RSU 57 students. Thank you.
Last week, RSU 57's K-1 students had an unforgettable shared experience with Sparks' Ark! David Sparks, a dedicated wildlife rehabilitator, founded Sparks' Ark with the mission of rescuing and caring for local animals. Through this incredible program, David is able to bring these animals into the community in an engaging and educational way. Our young learners were captivated by the incredible animals and the stories behind their rescue!

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of January! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! This month's raffle winner is Cindy Thorne, STEM Teacher at Massabesic Middle School!
"I believe Cindy Thorne is a Model Mustang because she has created a positive environment for not only the students but also staff. As a new teacher, it can be very hard but she has helped me in many ways. I feel as if she would be willing to help with anything and is always giving me advice. She is a tremendous support and an awesome teacher!"
