Students at Waterboro Elementary enjoyed a virtual presentation from our Nutrition Department about September's Harvest of the Month; tomatoes! Our food service staff prepared fresh salsa for students to sample while they learned nutritional facts about locally grown Maine tomatoes!
RSU 57 Early Release Reminder:
This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday September 20, is an Early Release Day in RSU 57 schools. Students in grades 6-12 will be dismissed at noon time and elementary students at 1:00pm.

6th graders at Massabesic Middle School kicked off the school year on a high note with a virtual panel from Middle Grade Authorcade! We are so grateful to authors' Payal Doshi, Caroline Gertler, and Yvette Clark for answering student questions and sharing about their books.

Good Evening RSU 57 Community,
Today, RSU 57 excitedly welcomed over 1,900 students in grades 1-9 for their first day of school. The success of today could not have been possible without the diligence of our educators, administrators and staff in our Transportation, Nutrition and Maintenance departments. Additionally, we are grateful for the efforts of parents and caregivers as they continue to support our students’ learning in this new year.
RSU 57 looks forward to welcoming back students in grades 10-12 tomorrow, August 31 and our youngest students in Pre-K and Kindergarten on September 5.
Here’s to a wonderful 2023-2024 school year.

Massabesic Adult and Community Education's CDL Class B with P and S endorsements starts on September 11. If you are interested in becoming a School Bus Driver for RSU 57, please call 207-247-2022 to register interest in the class.
The RSU 57 Strategic Planning Committee is pleased to announce our 2nd Community Forum to be held on August 28, 2023 at 7pm at Massabesic High School Auditorium. The Committee has targeted this date as we have several school Open House events taking place earlier that same evening and the hope is limit the number of evenings families are having to be out. The Forum will be an opportunity for parents, guardians, community members, students and staff to review the draft of the Strategic Plan and provide the committee with important feedback prior to a draft plan being shared with the RSU 57 School Board. The RSU 57 Strategic Plan will set the goals and initiatives that will drive the future of education in RSU 57. The Strategic Planning Committee wants to hear from our greater RSU 57 community to ensure the finalized plan captures the community's hopes, aspirations and priorities to the greatest extent possible.
MHS National Honors Society will be providing child care during the meeting.
We look forward to hosting our RSU 57 community on August 28 at 7pm at the Massabesic High School Auditorium.
MHS Football vs. Cheverus has been postponed due to weather conditions and will be play tomorrow, Saturday, August 26th @ 7:00 PM at the Mustang Stadium on our campus. This preseason scrimmage is featuring FREE admission to all, and the concessions stand will be open for refreshments - thanks to our boosters club for always supporting MHS athletics. We hope to see you there supporting MUSTANG NATION!
