Ms. Lessard and Mrs. Larochelle's Kindergarten classes at AES celebrated their completion of learning letters and letter sounds by conducting an ABC Fashion Show!!  Families helped to decorate a vest with an assigned letter. The students had a blast as they walked the runway highlighting their letter vest to strobe lights and high energy music!  The event was a great way to celebrate student learning and achievement!

Grades 3-5 at AES participated in their first grade span assembly of the year! Mrs. O'Donnell and Mr. Sleight were guest speakers and game show hosts presenting on digital citizenship. Students learned how to be safe, kind, respectful and responsible when using technology and tested their knowledge by playing a jeopardy game.

On Halloween, AES students came to school dressed as their favorite storybook character! They marched in a parade along with their book and halloween music. Students were surprised by staff when they arrived as Dalmatians (101 of them to be exact) along with their arch-enemy, "Cruella De Vil"!

The Pre K to Grade 2 students of Alfred Elementary School warmly welcomed Captain Mone of the York County Sheriff's Department to our school on October 31st! Captain Mone first read the story "Officer Buckle and Gloria" to the group, and then she discussed safety rules with students. Captain Mone answered many questions posed by the students. It was a wonderful morning of learning!

Dear RSU 57 Community, Good morning. In light of the horrific events in Lewiston remaining unresolved and following consultation with law enforcement agencies, RSU 57 will exercise caution and ALL RSU 57 schools and campuses will be closed on Friday October 27. The safety of our students and staff will always be our first priority. We encourage our students and staff to remain at home today. Please note that all RSU 57 campuses are closed and that hourly employees should remain off all campuses as well. Our hearts break for the families and loved ones of those so senselessly taken from this world and we send healing wishes to those who have been injured and are in recovery. We thank our entire RSU 57 community for its patience and understanding as we navigate these unprecedented times. We wish all of you a safe weekend ahead.

Dear RSU 57 Community. We hope this message finds all of our staff, students and families safe this evening. District leadership is monitoring the situation unfolding from the tragic events in Lewiston and we are in close communication with local law enforcement. School is important to students and families, and we do not take a decision to close school lightly. We will make the final decision regarding whether our schools will be in session or not no later than 5:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. Thank you for your support and understanding during these difficult times.

As part of National School Bus Safety Week, RSU 57 hosted a BBQ for our Transportation Department and celebrated staff for the incredible work they do to keep our students safe on and off the road. Additionally, students across RSU 57 created designs that showed what "Safely Rolling to My Destination" means to them. Transportation staff had the opportunity to view all of the incredible designs and vote for their favorite. The Grand Prize Winner's design will be featured on the 2024 National Bus Safety Flyer! Thank you to our Transportation Department employees for their continuous hard work and dedication to serving our community.
