Good Morning RSU 57 Community. In an ongoing effort to keep our student information as current and accurate as possible, RSU 57 will now utilize an annual verification process.  This is for all returning students to RSU 57 from the 2022-23 school year.  (New students to RSU 57 must be registered via the “2023/2024 School Year New Student Registration” portal in ParentVUE.) This process ensures we have the most current information for each of our students and their family so that we may communicate effectively with families and it best ensures the safety of our students.   Families are asked to review the information the district has on file in ParentVUE and make any needed changes, as well as read and acknowledge the included policies and/or required questions.  This verification process will take 5-10 mins or less.  If you do not know your ParentVUE login please email parentvue@rsu57.org for assistance. You will hear back between the hours of 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Please visit the link below for detailed instructions on how to complete this important process. It is required that ALL returning students have this annual verification completed prior to the start of the school year. We appreciate your assistance with this effort to ensure each of our RSU 57 students has up-to-date information in our student information system. https://rsu57.incidentiq.com/kb/articles/a6f65974-1815-4444-8ff3-ea4aa1482d5a Lastly, please note that viewing items such as your child's schedule, past grades, etc. will not be available until August 14 in ParentVUE. We wish you all a healthy and happy remainder of summer.

In December of 2022, RSU #57 was granted $25,000 from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center to build an ADA compliant playground at the Massabesic East building. Known as the "Little Mustang Meadow", this play area will be accessed during the school day by elementary age students who attend high needs special education programming in Waterboro. The accessible ground cover will provide greater access to our young learners as well as to our community members who may have mobility challenges. Construction of the playground finished on June 8. Although there are still a few remaining features to be added, the Little Mustang Meadow is NOW OPEN to our students and community members! Click the video below to watch the transformation. RSU #57 is appreciative of the generosity and support that we have received from the Reeve Foundation and are excited to have this feature in our community. https://youtu.be/ZCVzZlw7JFw

For the 22/23 School Year, Lyman Elementary Peer Helpers chose to do their Community Service Project on the American Welfare Society and Pet Shelter in Kennebunk, Maine. Throughout the months of March and April Peer Helpers collected pet donations and thanks to everyone's help, met their goal in reaching 8 boxes filled with wonderful pet food and care items. Thank you to all that contributed donations! We couldn't have done all of this without you. On Tuesday May 30th, Amanda from AWS, visited our school and talked to Peer Helpers about the many wonderful things they are able to do for our community, because of the kindness of others within our community.

Lyman Elementary students have been learning how to roller-skate over the past couple weeks. It has been really awesome to watch the progress the students have made in such a short amount of time. Today Deputy Spates stopped by to visit the school and joined in on the fun! Thanks Mr. Penley for creating this awesome unit and for Deputy Spates for dropping by.
