Looking for a way to help? Want to give back? Help a neighbor? As our nation adjusts to a new reality, we are inspired to find ways to help those most severely impacted by COVID-19. In an effort to give back to our community and those who suffer from food insecurity we are partnering with 320ink and their TipJar Initiative. Please consider purchasing a tshirt (seen below) for $20. Proceeds will be donated to the RSU 57’s food insecurity programs. T-shirts will be available for a period of two weeks, and will be mailed directly to you by 320ink, after the sale closes. To order your t-shirt in youth or adult sizes, please click on the link below. https://rsu-57-district-food-insecurity-efforts.itemorder.c… https://youtu.be/EuY3jq7MY3w We are hoping to spread messages of positivity via the #separatedbutnotdivided through social media platforms. We are encouraging people to take a photo wearing their Separated But Not Divided t-shirt and share it on social media with a message of hope and positivity. Please include the #separatedbutnotdivided as part of your post. MHS Student Council

Maine's Department of Health and Human Services has received approval from Food and Nutrition Services to partner with the Maine Department of Education to provide a Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefit to school-aged children who normally receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at Maine schools. This benefit will help to replace the value of school meals while students are learning remotely. Families currently receiving SNAP or TANF and have a child aged five through eighteen will receive a P-EBT benefit on their Pine Tree card in May. Families who are not receiving SNAP or TANF and have a child who is eligible for free or reduced school lunch can request the P-EBT benefit by calling 1-855-797-4357. Some household information will be requested by a phone agent who will then verify eligibility with the Maine Department of Education. Families who have not yet been found eligible for free or reduced lunch can apply through their local school district at the following link. www.myschoolapps.com Separate P-EBT cards will be issued for eligible families who do not already have a Pine Tree card. Please call our office if you cannot access the online application and we will mail you a paper copy. (207)247-3221 x2257

Mustang Theatre has many of its performances on YouTube. In this time of remote learning and many of us still staying home, I thought it may be a good time to watch some productions if you have not had the opportunity to come see a show. Here is last Fall's presentation of Little Women. https://youtu.be/-cWiglxMTiw On our Mustang Theatre playlist, you will also find past performances including Sillyheart, The Storm, Anatomy of Gray, and A Sussified Christmas Carol. Our one-act from this year will be posted soon also.

Good afternoon, I hope you and your family are well and in good spirits. My most recent update has been posted to our website, which includes final last day of school for students, links to staff parades for students, and special recognition for our food service heroes. Please take care of yourself, loved ones, and those around you. When there is a choice, choose kindness.

The parade route will be shared with you shortly. If the parade does not travel directly by your home, we encourage you to find a public location along our route so that we can say hello to our students! Last week the Alfred Elementary "Weekly Challenge" was to thank a hero. Students discussed what the word 'hero' meant to them. They created cards and sent them friends, family, our drivers & more! Several decided to thank our local fire fighters and safely delivered it to them!
