Please join the MHS Theatre Troupe for their performances of "Wild Strawberries" on March 1st and 2nd at 6:30pm! Tickets are $10 each and $8 for K-12 students. We hope to see you there! "It’s a bright morning on the di Nikoli estates and the loyal maid Truffledina just wants to eat breakfast. But her mistress, Nikolette di Nikoli, wants to disguise herself as her supposedly dead brother and go into the city to take care of his will and her inheritance. Nikolette and Truffledina head off to the city, where they meet (and confuse) many of the residents. Hilarity is guaranteed as one mistaken identity leads to another, loyalties and love are traded, and chaos ensues in the pursuit of Wild Strawberries."

This week at Massabesic Middle School, 7th graders completed a unit called “Wabanaki Week”, where students’ learned about the history and culture of Abenaki, Mi'kmaq, Maleceet, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot Nations. Students celebrated their learning with a performance from Penobscot performer, Firefly - who shared about the rich history of his home on Indian Island in Old Town, and performed several Wabanaki songs of welcome, honor, and strength. Firefly was joined by his wife, Donna, who led our students’ in traditional dances, including the “round dance”. Several 7th graders were even invited to join Firefly on stage and perform with him! A great big thank you to Firefly and Donna for their incredible performance, and to Ms. Jordyn Chase who was instrumental in making today’s event happen!
