Good Morning RSU 57 Community.
In an ongoing effort to keep our student information as current and accurate as possible, RSU 57 will now utilize an annual verification process. This is for all returning students to RSU 57 from the 2022-23 school year. (New students to RSU 57 must be registered via the “2023/2024 School Year New Student Registration” portal in ParentVUE.) This process ensures we have the most current information for each of our students and their family so that we may communicate effectively with families and it best ensures the safety of our students.
Families are asked to review the information the district has on file in ParentVUE and make any needed changes, as well as read and acknowledge the included policies and/or required questions. This verification process will take 5-10 mins or less. If you do not know your ParentVUE login please email parentvue@rsu57.org for assistance. You will hear back between the hours of 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Please visit the link below for detailed instructions on how to complete this important process. It is required that ALL returning students have this annual verification completed prior to the start of the school year. We appreciate your assistance with this effort to ensure each of our RSU 57 students has up-to-date information in our student information system.

We wish you all a healthy and happy remainder of summer.

In December of 2022, RSU #57 was granted $25,000 from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation National Paralysis Resource Center to build an ADA compliant playground at the Massabesic East building. Known as the "Little Mustang Meadow", this play area will be accessed during the school day by elementary age students who attend high needs special education programming in Waterboro. The accessible ground cover will provide greater access to our young learners as well as to our community members who may have mobility challenges.
Construction of the playground finished on June 8. Although there are still a few remaining features to be added, the Little Mustang Meadow is NOW OPEN to our students and community members! Click the video below to watch the transformation.
RSU #57 is appreciative of the generosity and support that we have received from the Reeve Foundation and are excited to have this feature in our community.

June Menus for RSU 57 Elementary Schools!

On behalf of Alfred Elementary and our PTSA, we would like to thank all of those who were able to join us on Saturday for our 1st ever Family Fitness Fun Day! The turnout was overwhelming and it was wonderful watching our students, families and staff enjoy the beautiful day, and simply being together. We plan to bring this event back due to its success and your feedback. Our hope is to continue to fine tune and grow our local vendor participation. We've included a few pictures below with permission to share:) Thank you all for helping to make our community the special place that it is for our kids!

AES Pre-K students had a visit from Sparks Ark. During the visit they saw a variety of nocturnal and diurnal animals. Students made connections from our learning throughout the school year during the presentation. They loved being able to feel each animal's different texture.

SECOND REMINDER: The RSU #57 School Board invites you to the annual district budget meeting as well as a public hearing on a Maine School Revolving Renovation Fund to be held at Massabesic Middle School on Monday, May 15. Registration will be held starting at 6:15PM in the event entrance lobby adjacent to the cafeteria of the middle school and the meeting will start at 7:00PM. We hope to see you on Monday evening.

Last week Alfred students in grades 3, 4, and 5 participated in a special assembly that focused on the theme of "perseverance". Students collaborated with staff to create a skit and were interviewed regarding what that word means to them. Interactive games were played that required a high level of perseverance. Kudos to Ms. Graham, Ms. LaPage, Miss Coffey, Miss Shopland, and Ms. McCarthy for their fantastic work with our students around this important trait!

This year, our Alfred PTSA have honored staff through a variety of special recognitions. Most recently they hosted a week of special treats & surprises to honor all staff during our appreciation week. A special thank to our four officers, Bri Thomas, Megan Hobson, Tracy Roberts, and Meaghan Huot for the hard work and time that went into planning these events. Thanks also to our community for the continued support to help make all of this possible!

Ms. Grahams' 3rd grade class at Alfred Elementary has been learning about medieval life and fairy tales. They created and practiced a puppet show based on a retelling of Sleeping Beauty.
