The RSU 57 Curriculum Committee warmly invites all students, staff, and community members to attend an upcoming Community Forum on Tuesday, May 13 at 6:00 PM in the Massabesic High School East Training Center. This forum will provide an opportunity to share updates on the RSU 57 Strategic Plan since its implementation last year and to strengthen connections between our schools and the broader community. As part of our ongoing commitment to building meaningful partnerships, we value your insights and ideas as we explore new ways to collaborate in support of our students and the greater RSU 57 community. The evening will begin with a brief presentation, followed by a discussion focused on the four key areas of the Strategic Plan: students, staff, community, and facilities. We hope to see you there and look forward to your participation in this important conversation!

We had an amazing turn out for our Weather at Our School event today! Thank you to all the families who got up super early and attended our morning event. The clips will be available on the Channel 8 News website for those interested and on tonight at 5:00pm!

It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of March! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! This month's raffle winner is Kayla Midolo, 1st Grade Teacher at Waterboro Elementary!
"Kayla is a wonderful teacher and valuable colleague. She is an important team member to the WES staff and provides great ideas for her first grade team. She is able to balance both structure and fun into her teaching. She has a kind demeanor and her students absolutely love her. The way she teaches has created students that love to learn, a skill they will carry with them throughout their lives."

Massabesic Adult and Community Education (MACE) is proud to celebrate the 19 graduates who have earned their high school equivalency (HiSET) since July 1, 2024—with 8 more students on track to graduate before the end of this school year. Earning a high school credential opens the door to a wide range of opportunities. Our recent MACE graduates are considering career paths in fields like education, construction, electrical work, CNC machining, and military service. A high school diploma or equivalency is more than just a piece of paper—it’s a critical stepping stone toward a stable, meaningful career. In fact, 63% of jobs in the U.S. require at least a high school diploma, and individuals who earn theirs see, on average, a 53% increase in income over ten years. Whether you're looking for a better job, a more consistent schedule, or a fresh start, completing your high school credential is a powerful first step. We invite the entire community to join us in celebrating the accomplishments of these hardworking individuals at our upcoming graduation ceremony on June 18. All are welcome to attend. Contact Massabesic Adult and Community Education at 207-247-2022 to begin your journey today!

As we wrap up our Reading Month celebration, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 17 guest readers who joined us to make this event truly special! Their participation helped bring the joy of reading to life and added so much to our activities. In addition, we had over 40 participants engage in our Boomers Bookworm program, showing their passion for books and learning. Don’t forget to register your child here so they can claim their tickets for this special baseball event! To close the month, raffles were pulled for those who submitted their literacy challenge tickets, and 10 lucky winners earned a free book at our upcoming Spring Book Fair event! We hope everyone had a fantastic time exploring new stories and expanding their imaginations this month!

Check out some amazing artwork from our Pre-K classroom!

This is a friendly reminder that Boomer's Bookworm logs are due tomorrow, April 1st. If your child has completed their log, please make sure to register them using the link below to receive your tickets. Thank you! https://boomersbookworms.sanfordmainers.com/

As part of our animal unit, the Kindergarten and First Grade teams engaged learners in an exciting owl pellet activity that allowed them to explore the fascinating diets of owls. During the activity, they carefully dissected owl pellets—regurgitated masses of undigested materials such as bones, fur, and feathers—from the owl’s meals. By examining the contents, they uncovered the bones of small mammals, birds, or insects that owls have eaten. This hands-on activity provided a fun and engaging way for our young learners to deepen their understanding of the animals they are studying!

Our Winter Kindness Celebration was a blast. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for supporting this fun event for our learners!
