On Wednesday, June 18, Massabesic Adult and Community Education held its commencement ceremony for the Class of 2025. This year’s graduating class of 32 is the largest in several years, and 19 of these graduates were able to attend the ceremony. Many of the graduates already have their next steps planned, including attending community college with the help of the free community college scholarship, pursuing a career in the trades, or joining the military.
Massabesic Adult and Community Education offers academic programming to those looking to finish high school, either by completing their required credits, or by pursuing a high school equivalency. The HiSET, which replaced the GED in Maine a number of years ago, involves working to pass five tests in the core subject areas of reading, writing, science, social studies, and math.
Students can join the adult education program at any time by calling (207)247-2022.
