Congratulations to Aleya Fogg on winning the Maine Field Hockey Coaches Association Steph Lunt award!
Aleya received this award at the Maine Field Hockey All State Banquet took place on Sunday Dec 4th at the Augusta Civic Center.
Steph Lunt, a resident of Winthrop, was a former field hockey player and an official in the Central Maine area for many years. Steph passed away in 1995 after a courageous battle with cancer. To honor her memory and love of field hockey and its players, the Maine Field Hockey Association has instituted this award
When nominating a player for this award, rather than looking at statistics alone, we look for a player, whose spirit, unselfish enthusiasm, and contributions to the team make her an invaluable member both on and off the playing field. This player should have a positive outlook, a sense of humor, a love of field hockey, demonstrate leadership qualities and be dedicated to the team.
