MMS and MHS Wind Ensemble Shines!
The Portland Youth Wind Ensemble is an audition-only honor group that meets once a week for the entire school year. The University of Southern Maine, School of Music sponsors this group and is directed by Dr. William Kinne. Membership is open to students in grades 8-12 and draws primarily from York, Cumberland, Oxford and Androscoggin counties. This year, Massabesic High School AND Middle School are proud to have 8 members actively participating in this group.
The RSU 57 participants are Grayson Needham 11 (Bari Sax), Kilee Francis 9 (Trumpet), Ian Tassinari 9 (Clarinet), Jakub Slawiec 9 (Tuba), Jack Lee 12 (Trumpet), Ryan Lee 8 (French Horn), Devenny Brickett 9 (Tuba), Dex Tremblay 12 (Euphonium).
Concerts are Nov. 10th and April 24th at Merrill Auditorium, Portland.

Football Home Playoff vs Gorham
Good luck to our Varsity Football Team and their coaches in tomorrow's Regional Quarter Final Playoff game against Gorham. The Mustangs finished the regular season 6-2 and the 2 seed in Maine South Class B standings. It should be a great evening so please come out and support our team as they start the playoffs!

MHS Volleyball Sportsmanship Award Winners!
Congratulations to the MHS Volleyball Team and Coach Melissa Brandt who have also been named the Class A South Region Sportsmanship awards winners! The team will be recognized at the Class A State Match tomorrow at USM at 6pm. Way to go volleyball players! Winter Sports Registrations!
WINTER 2022 Season Registrations Link!
REVTRAK is open for Winter Sports Registrations at MHS and MMS. The link to sign up is https://rsu57.revtrak.net. Please use a laptop or desk top to sign up as phones or IPads are not reliable to complete the process.
Requirements to Participate
Complete online registration (REVTRAK)
Current physical on file with our school nurse. (Good for 2 years)
Impact Testing Completed. Instructions below. (Required for all grade 9 and grade 11 students)
Academically eligible. (all 9th graders are eligible) Grade 10-12 students must be fully enrolled and have passed all classes from last semester. (Semester 2 2021-22)
Be cleared by school nurse and athletic trainer
Be cleared by AD office
MHS Winter Sports Informational Meeting
On Monday 11-7 there will be an informational in person meeting for all students participating in a winter sport at MHS. All students athletes are expected to attend with a parent or guardian. This will be an opportunity to learn about our schedules, meet our staff, and review the expectations for the high school student athlete. Please join us this evening and get excited for the fall!!
IMPACT TESTS- Concussion Baseline
All incoming 9th grade students for school year 22-23 must have a new impact test completed for fall sports upon entering high school.
All athletes must have a current Impact Baseline test on file. There is a link to do baseline tests at home this year. MMS athletes require a new Impact test each year. MHS Athletes require a test their 9th and 11th grade years or if they have not had one in two years or have never had one.

PHYSICALS
All athletes at MMS and MHS must have current physicals on file with our school nurse. Physicals are good for 2 years. All who have registered as of today have been contacted if a physical is needed.
