MHS Varsity Girls Basketball defeats Sanford!
Congratulations to the MHS Varsity Girls Basketball Team who defeated Sanford last night 56-35 in the Class AA South Regional Quarter Final. The #4 Mustangs advance to the Cross Insurance Arena next Wednesday for an 8:45pm showdown with #1 ranked Gorham. This marks the first time our girls varsity have advanced to the AA Semi Final game! Amazing job!
Special thanks to all in attendance last night. We had a great game and our fan support was terrific! We appreciate the positive and appropriate energy that you brought to the game!
The guidelines for Spectator Entry to the Cross Insurance Arena are as follows:
Spectator Guidelines - Cross Insurance Arena (Portland, ME)
Spectators at the Cross-Insurance Arena must wear face masks while in the facility (ages 2 and older). Anyone who has had their 12th birthday and older needs to show proof of being fully vaccinated, or a negative Covid-19 Test within 72 hours prior to the event. Spectators can take a picture of their COVID-19 Vaccination card or negative test result and show that at the door. Spectators may take an at home test within 72 hours of the event. If an at-home test is used and is a negative result, the spectator can take a photo of it with a timestamp. Face masks need to be worn while in the facility.
Boys Basketball Class AA Regional Quarter Final @ Sanford Tonight!
Our Varsity Boys Basketball team travels to Sanford tonight for the Class AA South Regional Quarter Final. Game time is 6pm. The game will be live streamed on Youtube at WSSITV Sanford. The link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBAXC267E6Q
At Sanford masks are required at all times, there is no food or drink allowed in the gym and noise makers are not allowed per MPA rule.
The winner advances to the Semi Final game to be held at the Cross Insurance Arena Thursday 2-24 at 7pm.

Boys Ice Hockey
The BOOM Ice Hockey team travels to Troubh Ice Arena in Portland today for a 4pm game vs Portland / Deering. Game time is 4pm
Boys and Girls Swimming States
The Boys and Girls Swimming State Championships are this coming Monday and Tuesday at Cape Elizabeth High School. The Boys swim Monday at 10:30am and the Girls Swim Tuesday at 10:30am. Massabesic will be represented by Martin Glynn, Evelyn Soule- Parent, Aleena Beneszewski, Kaitlynne Chenard, Emma Hartigan, Isabel Enos, and Dakota Staples! Good luck Swimmers!
Wrestling State Championship
The MHS Wrestlers advance to the Class A State Championship Saturday 2-19 at Mt Ararat High School in Topsham. Wrestling begins at 10am. MHS will be represented by Isaac Boulard (Regional runner up at 106lbs), Nicholas Chenard (Regional Champion at 113 lbs) Dominic Bubar (Regional Champion at 152 lbs) Coleman Pennington, Jack Harriman (REgional Runner up at 170lbs) and Shawn Wakefield (Regional Champion at 195 lbs). Mariah Jacobsen will compete in the Girls State Championship to be held at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln Me Wednesday 2-23. Wrestling begins at 10am.
Indoor Track and Field State Championship
The MHS Indoor Track Qualifiers will compete Monday at USM in the Class A State Championships. Competition begins at 10am. Massabesic will be represented by Luke Cloutier, Oliver Robidoux, Nathan Dallaire, Ian Sampson, Gavin Sampson, Brendan Banks, Morgan Illig and Ethan Paquin!
